Eyelash Extensions
Eyelash Extensions are a great way to add length and curl to your own natural lashes. Lash extensions are synthetic lash strands that are applied by using one synthetic lash to one natural lash. Lashes are attached with a medical grade adhesive. The result is a natural beautiful look which in most cases, takes out the need to use mascara! FAQ’s
What are eyelash extensions?
Eyelash Extensions are great way to add length and curl to your own natural lashes. Lash extensions are synthetic lash strands that are applied by using one synthetic lash to one natural lash. They are attached with a medical grade adhesive which is latex and formaldehyde free. The result is a natural, beautiful look which in most cases, takes out the need to use mascara!
How long will it take to apply my eyelash extensions?
Depending on whether you choose the natural set or the full set, your application time can vary from 1hr 15 min to 2 hrs. This time depends entirely on how many natural lashes you currently have.
Will I sit up or lay down for my eyelash extension service?
Lash Extensions are applied while you are laying down comfortably in a spa bed.
What should I do to prepare for my eyelash extension appointment?
We ask you to come with clean makeup free eyes. This will ensure that your appointment time is used to fill up those beautiful lashes instead of cleaning off your makeup. Since you should not wet your lashes for 24hrs after the application, you may want to wash your hair the day or night before your appointment. If you wear contacts, please remove them before your appointment time. Avoid drinking caffeine before your service if at all possible as this may cause your eyes to shake during the application. If possible we ask you to avoid drinking liquids at least 30min before your service as you will be laying down 1-2 hrs.
How often should I come in for a touchup?
It is recommended to come in every 2-3 weeks for a lash extension touchup. If you notice that you have lost 50% of your lashes, it’s time for a touchup! If you wait too long, it may require you to get a new set.
Brides, vacation or business trip?
If you’ve never had lash extensions before, it’s good to come in at least 2 weeks before for a set and a few days before your special occasion for a touchup. This gives you time to see if you want to change anything and to ensure there are no sensitivities.
I’m pregnant, can I still get Eyelash Extensions?
Since the service requires you to lay down for 1 to 2 hrs, this service may not be right for you as it is not advisable for pregnant women to lay on their back without moving for extended periods of time.
Can I still use mascara?
You can use mascara but make sure it is water-based and you should only apply mascara to the tip of the extensions.
Can I use a lash curler?
Using a lash curler is not advisable as it can pull out your lashes and take your natural lashes with it.
I’m usually pretty sensitive, will eyelash extensions be a good thing for me?
If you tend to be more on the sensitive side and suffer from eye sensitivities, you may want to come in for a consultation. We can do a “patch test” where we would apply one lash extension and from there, we can see if eyelash extensions are right for you.
Can I get my eyelash extensions wet?
Yes! We ask you to wait at least 24 hours before wetting your lash extensions to allow the adhesive time to dry. Once they are dry, you can swim shower and exercise!
What do I have to do to care for my lashes?
-Please don’t wet your lashes for at least 24 hours
-Use oil free eye makeup remover only
-Avoid hot steam or sauna (minimize hot yoga) as this may loosen the adhesive bond
-If possible, sleep on your back
-Try your best not to pick or pull at your lashes
-Water based mascara only if needed and only apply to tips of lashes
If any of the following apply to you, eyelash extensions may NOT be advisable:
-Suffer from any of the following pre-existing eye conditions such as blepharitis and ocular rosacea
-Can’t lay on your back for approximately 1-2hrs
-If you have Trichotillomania, which is compulsive pulling or twisting of hair or eyelashes
-Swim in a chlorinated water several times a week
